1934 Rolls Royce “Star of India”

January, 2011 § 1 Comment

I want to honor the 100th anniversary of Lady of Ectasy posting one of the rarest vehicles in the world, a 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom II 40/50 HP Continental buyed by the Maharaja of Rajkot. He give to the car the name “Star of India”, referencing a 563 carat star sapphire.

The car was personalizated for the Maharaja some pretty fancy work made by Thrupp and Maberley and finished with saffron tone and polished aluminum wings. It has 14 headlights at the front (including adaptive lights that work with the wheel!! in 1934!!).

It’s a really nice and special classic car. Enjoy the pics.
