A few beautiful pics with the four Alfa Romeo TZ by Zagato. The 1963 TZ, 1965 TZ2 and finally the recents 2010 Tz3 Corsa and 2011 TZ3 stradale (road version of Corsa). The modern Tz3 are based on a Dodge Viper ACR.
Enjoy looking for the resemblances (even in the wheel rims, kamm tail, rear glass, etc ) and the differences.
The Kamm Tail (“Coda Tronca” in italian) is the shape of the rear, also you can see this design in very specials cars like Ferrari 250 GTO and the Shelby Cobra Daytona. The name came from Wunibald Kamm a german automobile designer and aerodynamicist who in summer of 1938, tested a prototype (K-3) based on the chassis of BMW 328. It had a drag coefficient of only 0.25 compared to the BMW 328 Touring Mille Miglia Coupe (1940) with coefficient 0.35, and most of today’s cars rate above 30. Even the The Prius follows this design, so, it rates 0.25. A pick-up could rate about almost 0.45.
