1970 Mercedes C111-II

The C111 was a series of experimental automobiles produced by Mercedes-Benz in 60’s and 70’s.  The design of this series II it’s surprising coming from the german manufacterer.  They were experimenting with Wankel engines (like Mazda RX7), 350hp on 600cc! But a lot of pollutant emissions and high fuel consumption. So this kind of motors were canceled and subsequent versions of the C111 were powered by a diesel engine.

Anyway, a nice car, a special design…  a car that deserves to be visited on Mercedes Museum. Enjoy the pics of C111-series and also, the three series together on some pics.
