A very special car, result of mixing two soul-filled brands: Citroën and Maserati. Innovation and design from the french brand and a V6 heart from Italy.
Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968, that makes it possible this car designed by Robert Opron. The SM was incredibly advanced for its time: aluminum body, world’s first variable-assist power steering system, an oil-based hydropneumatic system. Also six headlights behind a beautiful glass cover, two of which turned with the steering wheel, and six could pivot up and down depending on rear ride height.

The Car of the Century (COTC) was an international award given to the world’s most influential car of the 20th century. This is the top 5:
I don’t think so, but for some people is the best design in car history. 1.4 milions units had been sold in 20 year in the market. An really hi-tech car in 1955 with hydropneumatic suspension, disc brakes and semi-automatic transmission.
